Our Services

The Berndt Museum of Anthropology offers a variety of services to Aboriginal people, researchers and students, and the community. It has been involved in various community and academic projects.

Services for Aboriginal People

  • Helping to write submissions for project funding;
  • Lending objects to recognized institutions;
  • Assisting people to carry out research using materials held by the Museum;
  • Holding tours for groups of between ten and forty people;
  • Providing photographs and copies of objects and images held in the collections.

Services for Researchers and Students

  • Hosting researchers to view and work on the collections

    Note that the first six photocopies or digital prints (low resolution only) are free per enquiry, together with the first 30 minutes of a staff member’s time. After that, A4 photocopies cost 10 cents per exposure, other prints as indicated on the Application for Photographs Form. Staff time in excess of 30 minutes per enquiry is charged at $60/hr plus GST. Special arrangements are in place for registered full-time students, please check with Museum staff for details.

  • Supervising postgraduate students and teaching in undergraduate courses;
  • Documenting the materials held by the Museum;
  • Exhibitions and displays;
  • Lending objects to recognized institutions;
  • Publications;
  • Continued acquisitions of objects.
